Listening blog: Tim McGraw

"Tim McGraw" was one of Taylor's earliest songs that she released at the age of sixteen. It is in the country genre. Seeing this song on the song list was kind of cool because I wrote my final paper on Taylor and her music career so I thought that it would be a little silly of me not to pick this song. It has the classic instruments used in country music, an acoustic guitar, a banjo, and the country twang in her singing. I would have to say that I really enjoy this song. It is at the beginning of Taylor's career so the country vibe is very apparent which I really like. I don't know about you but this song sent me right back to my childhood. The song has lyrics that are about regret in a relationship. It gives you a feeling of nostalgia from her point of view.  Taylor also was ironically foreshadowing to her music future. She ended up collaborating with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban to write and sing "Highway Don't Care." If you haven't listened to it I 11/10 recommend.

  1. It is amazing that she released this song at only sixteen years old. I like her old songs because they are country. This song brings back memories of childhood for me too. I like how Taylor Swift is now going back through and remaking a lot of her songs and adding more to the albums.
