Listening blog: Don't Think Twice

Don't Think Twice, It's All Right by Bob Dylan was one of the earlier style of Bob's albums and songs. It is definitely toward the folk side of all of his music. The song was released on his album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. I like this song, it has a very soothing sound to it, Bob's voice is just very calming. The lyrics are kind of sad. From what I got of it is that he loved this women but it just isn't going to work out between them so he tells her "don't think twice its all right." He explains that he has to leave but she shouldn't wait and worry because everything is going to be okay. That is what I got from the lyrics but I could see how it could be interpreted differently for other people. Which kind of shows how good of a lyricist he is. Bob Dylan is very talented at the harmonica and it is definitely shown in this song. I think that the song has a very good vibe and it reminds me of a lot of songs that I have heard before. I definitely could see people gathering around the fire with a guitar and singing this song and just enjoying themselves. Bob Dylan is a very talented song writer and performer and I can see why a lot of writers were inspired by him.

  1. Hey Brittan! SweetBlog! I definitely noticed how soothing this song is too. Its one of those songs that just make you happy even though it is about something a little sad. Something else I like about this blog is its ability to reel in people with a story. I felt like the older songs had trouble to grasp the audiences attention when talking about a break-up, but Bob Dylan did a good job to get people into their feels when talking about the hard parts of relationships. Thanks for Sharing!!
